Install HyperV Managment on Windows 7

Manage Windows 2008 R2 from a Windows 7 SP1 PC

1)Install Remote Server Administration Tools for Windows 7 with Service Pack 1 (SP1). Download the appropriate  file from  http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=7d2f6ad7-656b-4313-a005-4e344e43997d.

2) Click “Yes”

3) Click “I Accept”

4) Let the Installation finish

Enabling Hyper-V Management

1)      Open command prompt and type  “Dism /online /enable-feature /featurename: RemoteServerAdministrationTools” then press Enter.

2)      Type “Dism /online /enable-feature /featurename: RemoteServerAdministrationTools-Roles” then press Enter.

3)      Type “Dism /online /enable-feature /featurename: RemoteServerAdministrationTools-Roles-HyperV” then press Enter.

Using HyperV Management

1)      Click Start, Control Panel, Administrative Tools.

2)      Right click Hyper-V Manager and click “Run as administrator”

3)      Enter domain admin credentials.

4)      Click “Connect to Server…”

5)      Click on “Another computer”. Type the HyperV server.
